When I switch to "mono" in xawtv, the card immediately mutes the audio (even though I have "automute" set to off). When I unmute it again, and look at the audio signal in envy24control, it still looks like a stereo signal .. definitely not like the signal of e.g. a mono radio station .. so .. somebody once mentioned that the connections between the board and the msp3400 chip are different on the pinnacle and the hauppauge card? someone on this list talked about doing a little soldering experiment but never returned to talk about the result, iirc.
