You only need the sound card to play back the audio through. It does it's own internal audio capturing via an msp34xx chip. The nice thing is you get the mpeg2 with audio/video already put together. The latest versions of the driver does a really good job at keeping them synced up. The longest I've recorded has been a 2 hour show and I didn't see any sync issues after burning to dvd and playing on my hardware DVD player.
Any idea how it is for low bitrates - 128kbps and 64kbps for example? (with DMA audio) Bill
