Yeah, and given a sub 13ms seek time on hard drive, fast forward is sooo
cheap and easy and simple to do.

For anyone who thinks that pressing a button to skip 2 or 3 minutes of TV
in a few ms is too interactive, see the sirius cybernetics corporation
user manual for their radios :)

Some of the techniques are no doubt useful for other things though.
