Probably the ATI needs a fine-tuned tvcards array entry for good
sound support.

Might be, depends on how the card is designed.  One possible way is to
route the external jack throuth the msp34xx's scart input.  Another is
to connect an audio mux to some of the GPIO pins of the bt848/878 chip.
