Im no expert by any means and welcome correction by other more knowing on the board, but to my knowledge the bttv is built in to mandrake 9.0. It was on my system anyway. I did not have to install anything. Of course I has the tuner card (Win TV Go) installed before the Mandrake install. It even automatically put a xawtv icon on my desktop for me. Worked right out of the box. -----Original Message----- From: Ashley Delaney [mailto:delaneyashley@xxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Thursday, April 10, 2003 1:52 PM To: video4linux-list@xxxxxxxxxx Subject: bt878 problem Hi.. i recently purchaces a jetway tv tiner card based on the bt878 chipset. i have mandrake 9 installed.. i downloaded the v4l tar fiel adn did the following.. make make install it installed without any errors now however if i run xawtv.. it gives me the follwoing error This is xawtv-3.76, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.19-16mdk) can't open /dev/v4l/video0: No such file or directory v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway v4l2: open /dev/v4l/video0: No such file or directory v4l: open /dev/v4l/video0: No such file or directory no video grabber device available what do i do??? if i type lspci -v i get the following 00:0f.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Video Capture ( rev 11) Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 10 Memory at ef800000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K] Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2 00:0f.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 Audio Capture (rev 11 ) Flags: bus master, medium devsel, latency 32, IRQ 10 Memory at ef000000 (32-bit, prefetchable) [size=4K] Capabilities: [44] Vital Product Data Capabilities: [4c] Power Management version 2 -- Regards Ashley ******************************************************************** Ashley Delaney (Reach for the stars, even if you have to stand on a cactus) Abreovaddo, Saligao, Goa 403511 Ph: 2409580 / 44 Mob: 9823014976 Yahoo: ashleywiz ******************************************************************** -- video4linux-list mailing list Unsubscribe mailto:video4linux-list-request@xxxxxxxxxx?subject=unsubscribe https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/video4linux-list
