tuning problem: Pinnacle PCTV on RH 9

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

I just bought and installed a Pinnacle PCTV card, not the "pro" version,
just
the cheap NTSC one. I have installed it on a system running RedHat 9.
With
xawtv, I can display and capture video (static), but I can not tune any
channels. The connection is a cable TV, so I have set the video
standard to
"ntsc" and the input to "usa cable", but all I get is static or maybe a
hint
of a channel. No matter how I adjust the tuning or change the settings, I
can't make it work. I apologize if there is a FAQ I missed (I read
several),
but I could not find a solution, so I'm asking for help.

I did not specify "card=" or "tuner=" because they seem to be autodetcted
correctly. I am running the RedHat kernel, and using the drivers that came
with 9.0, but I can build+use other drivers if that would help. I am not
including all the configuratino info because I don't want to waste people's
time and bandwith, but I can supply that if necessary. Thanks in advance!
