What's exactly a "PC Camera"?

I've a Genius camera that's seems to be a "PC Camera"... It know be used to
take photographies, little videos as well as a Web Cam usually conected by
USB. When you connect it to the PC you can select between two modes from the
Camera control switch: "Mass Storage Media" or "Pc Camera".

Does define "PC Camera" some kind of standard or its just a generic
denomination for this kind of devices? Can I use it in LiNUX with some
generical driver or not? I've not seen specific drivers for it, but its a
Genius DSC-1.3 TFT. Does someone has tested it?

Thanks in advance,
