The ten-minute limit can be > cheated by using quicktime, but the problem may still happen. The other option > is to switch to an older kernel. SUSE 7.3 never shows that problem, while > RedHat 7.3 consistently shows it. RedHat uses a newer kernel. It feels like a kernel hang. Nothing is responsive, and I don't see any SEGV's on the console. I don't get any kernel oops in the logs either, which is disturbing. I started with a Debian distribution, but have dist-upgraded, and running my own 2.4.18 kernel. This is also an SMP box on an Abit BP6 motherboard, which is notorious across the net for hangs, though I haven't seen any that might be related to this since I stopped using setiathome. -- Michael O'Keefe | mokeefe@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Live on and Ride a '96 Honda CBR1000F| roxus@xxxxxxx / | I like less more or less less than |Work:+1 858 845 3514 / | more.
