By "audio cable" you mean the connector from the back of the video card into the
lin-in hole, and not the cable inside the case that goes from the video card
into the board, right?  I just want to make sure.  There is a hole on the video
card labelled "audio"...I'm assuming this is the one you're talking about.
Would plugging headphones directly in there work?  I tired that with no luck
before.

I'm thinking it is more likely something like this, as I think I've tried every
variation possible at this point :).  Is there any fix for something like
this?  I opened the case and see that the card is labelled es1373.

Maybe this is a good idea.  Will try this after I've exhausted all the other
