Sure if the audio cable goes from the bttv line-out to the soundcard
line-in and you have unmuted and adjusted the line-in levels in the mixer.

Maybe there's some unsupported switch in your soundcard. It might be in
the ac97 codec because there are a million variations of those. If you
can't get it working with the OSS es1371 module you could try ALSA. Just
make sure you get the latest 0.9 release. 0.5 is not really supported any
more and 0.9 is much better anyway.
