help me with choice

dear members of v4l list
I am planning to make a multiple input program with
v4l interface.
now I can make it work with a one-input pctv card
Then I will continue to make a multiple input one.
but here it seems I can have two choice.
One is a multiple-input card. The other is several
one-input card.
Then which one is better ?
If I choose the first , does it mean I have to use
channel change
to get different input ? will the channel switch cost
much time to lead frames dropped ?
I wanna get 25fps in every input .
If the choice is the second, maybe it will be easier.
I just have a loop .
In the loop , I do same thing to every input. But
until now I have no experiments.
so I dont know whether it can guarantee the framerate
too.
If someone has experience on this field ,please give
you hand .
thanks in advance.
