I'm down with the notion that every little package and update cannot be supported. What I think a lot of folks need is a list of _all_ the package and the versions that go together for a complete install. For example: kernel 2.4.17 quicktime4linux1.3 mjpegtools-1.5-20011611 etc... Plus, some packages need to be installed in a certain order because of dependencies as stated before: >Compiling mjpegtools *is* a nightmare, and we know that.
