okely dokely...
I got my other capture card to 'work' now...
however, all i get in Zapping is a thin line at the top of my screen.
anyone experience this? ever?

Did you run make xconfig? You need to enable the patch.

not to mention the fact that the capture card doesn't work.
Besides that, this is what I will usually do
modprobe zoran
modprobe saa7110 #i'm pretty sure that's the right module


Easy to find out. Just look at the card and identify the chips. It says Philips
SAA7110 or SAA7111 pretty cleary.
