Exactly, I experience the same behavior, after a fresh cold reboot the MT2032
communicates, but every attempt after that fails.
Enabling debugs in the i2c and tda9887 modules only seems to indicate that
the i2c_write fails.

I tried disabling 'miro_pinnacle_gpio' and inserting with bttv_gpio=1
as suggested by Gunter, but I did not see a noticeable difference.

Any other suggestions as to how to proceed further?
