when i try xawtv, it works fine with "-noxv" and the rest too of course but ffmpeg
doesn`t still work i get
[Martin@Kaer_Morhen ffmpeg]$ ./ffmpeg -d /dev/video0 juzek.avi
Recording: avi, 10.0 seconds
  Audio: mp2, 44100 Hz, mono, 64 kb/s
VIDIOCMCAPTURE: Invalid argument
Could not init video 4 linux capture

it`s the same with xatv but xawtv works fine i get :

[Martin@Kaer_Morhen Martin]$ xawtv -c /dev/video0 -noxv -noscale -novm
This is xawtv-3.43, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.2-2)
x11: 1024x768, 16 bit/pixel, 2048 byte/scanline, DGA
/dev/video0: no overlay support
v4l-conf had some trouble, trying to continue anyway
wmhooks: gnome
ioctl: VIDIOCMCAPTURE(0,fmt=0,size=0x0): Invalid argument

I use the 2.4.2 kernel and the 1.28 driver. Xawtv even grabs avi files.
