You might have seen the discussion on linux-kernel about passing
arguments / control devices using filename like this:

$ > /dev/cdrom/eject

If this becomes true some day, it would be very handy for v4l(2) too:

$ display -size 320x240 rgb:- < /dev/video0/width=320,height=240,fmt=rgb
