I had to load the tvmixer.o module, which enabled the mixer device for one of the audio chips on my card. Then I used my mixer (gnome's mixer, actually) to twiddle the settings for that chip, and sound returned. An initialization problem, perhaps? I've been meaning to look for it, but haven't done so yet... -Eric
