Hi again!,
Well, I discovered something interesting,
I booted with a knoppix cd, and tried the xawtv, and it almost worked (ok, i
didn't hear a sound, but the image was great). Also, I couldn't change into
another channel (problem with the tuner? no idea), it got stuck with the last
one i tried in windows.
The only difference within the modules that I could find was that with knoppix
it didn't load the "tda9887" module. I think everything else was exactly like
my actual configuration. I have no clue why I got perfect image with knoppix,
and now I just can't get it.
Well, I guess I won't have to touch a kernel line, but I actually would love
to understand what i'm doing wrong here (there must be something very wrong
with me, i know).
Also, i got the provider specification: as i knew, a Conexant (Brooktree)
bt848/878, with a PAL B/G tuner (48.25 -855.25Mhz). That's for Europe, in UK,
for example, the tuner changes, being a PAL I (45.75 -855.25Mhz).
The exact name of the card is "Pinnacle PCTV Pro XE", and it's bought in
Germany.
Well, right now I'm gonna try some silly things, like restarting X with 16bpp
instead of 24 which I've got now, and stuff like that. I am really lost.
And this goes for Peter Farrow: I've got a picture of my card, which i cand
send you, to check whether we've got the same one. If you would, please tell
me and I will do so.
Thank you all, i'll keep on trying.
Cheers,
