I have several problems I was hoping someone could help me with. I have a saa7134-based (Flyvideo 2000) TV tuner card and am using saa7134 module version is 0.2.7. The card sound output is connected to my sound card's CD audio input on the PCB, so under Windows I get sound through the CD channel. Under Linux though, the sound is basically inaudible, even when it and the master volume are at 100%. When I turn my amplifier up to top volume, I can barely hear sound through the static. As a nasty workaround for this problem, I have connected a VCR up to the Aux input on my TV tuner card (rather than using the card's own tuner) and connected the VCR's sound output to my sound card's "line in" socket, and this works. However, even here I have a problem, when trying to record video with sound. xawtv streamer records it choppy, high-pitched and unintelligible. (The video seems to be at the right speed, though.) With other apps such as mencoder I can't figure out how (if it is even possible) to specify what sound input to use for the recording (like I can with xawtv's "mixer" option), so it just records silence. As a final problem, unrelated to sound, xawtv won't tune to most of my channels (2, 7, 9 and 10 - which are our main free-to-air stations in Australia), even though I have the Australian frequency setting and PAL set in xawtv. Of course, the VCR work-around fixes this, but it shouldn't be a problem because Windows can tune to these stations fine. Any help much appreciated. -- JEREMY MALCOLM <Jeremy@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Personal: http://www.malcolm.id.au Providing online networks of Australian lawyers (http://www.ilaw.com.au) and Linux experts (http://www.linuxconsultants.com.au) for instant help!
