RE: v4l2 and RH 9

Go to the gatos web site (http://gatos.sourceforge.net) and get the
ati.2 tar file for your system (Read the instructions carefully to get
the correct one.) I just untarred it in the /usr directory, it installed
in the proper places in my X directories, and xawtv worked. If you want
capture as well, you need to install some other stuff from the gatos
site (drm and km). (I haven't done that yet.)

I should point out that someone else tried this with an smp system and
reported on this list that it didn't work. I don't know why. It was
simple for me.

You could also install the gatos tv viewing program avview. I didn't
since I like xawtv just fine.

I use my ATI card in linux but not like an standar v4l device and in my
case
I can't use the ati card with xawtv software.
