This seems to be a constant problem for a while now, which seemed to affect a lot of people. Xawtv included in their distribution a frequencies list for canada-cable for a short time (still exists, just commented out in Index.map). Is there any way to fix this problem? For those that do not know, it is very common that some cards that should be detected as Type=2 (Philips NTSC) are detected as Type=5 (Philips PAL_BG). I've heard of my card, Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP and ATI TV Wonder card and possibly others that are affected by this. I know it is very easy to just change your options in modules.conf or explicitly say type=2 on the modprobe line, but there should be a way to detect this automatically. As well, i noticed in bttv-cards.c under the Winfast TV2000 section where it states: (linux-2.4.20) line 614: "Note: There exists another variant "Winfast 2000" with tv stereo!?" I have this card, Leadtek Winfast TV2000XP Delue edition. If there is anything i can do or anything i could provide to improve support for this card, let me know.
