Modular tech MM200PCTV - No audio

apologies if this is already somewhere in the archives, but it's agonising dredging thru them page by page.

Bought a cheap and cheerful PCI TV card (unbranded),. Checking on the gallery it looks like the MM200PCTV (although the PCB has MM210PCTV ISS1 2099 printed on it)..

bttv autodetects card type 23 and the Alps tuner (although I find the phillips tuner [type=1) to be much better (no fine tuning needed).

If I try loading with any of the Haupage cards (eg. card = 2 or 10 or 26) I get an OOPS and have to reboot (reset).

The PC is a Celeron 333, which has an Intel i810 chipset on the motherboard and uses AC97 codec for sound, which does work (I can cat a wav file at /dev/dsp and it works). And I'm using Redhat 8.0 .

Anybody come across this one before or knows what I need to do to get sound (I don't even get static or distorted sound).

thanks

tony
