Though the nvidia drivers are known to be quite good && stable (I use
them even on my development system), you still want to try reproducing
this using the opensource 'nv' drivers.

Mixing 3.2 and 2.9x is generally not a good idea. Try using either one
or the other (which means you'd need to rebuild your whole system or
that you'd need to go back to 2.9x only).
