Hallo,

when I have understood some postings correct, you can use v4l-conf
befor starting up an application to get rid of the green-screen problem.
Is this right?

I could not manage this. I have a 2.4.20 kernel, v4l patches from 7.
February
and saa7134 from 18. February + xawtv 3.85.
With the v4l-conf from the xawtv version I get the following error:

map: vt03 => fb0
v4l-conf: using framebuffer device /dev/fb0
mode: 640x480, depth=8, bpp=8, bpl=640, base=0xc8000000
/dev/video0 [v4l2]: ioctl VIDIOC_S_FBUF: Invalid argument

The device still does not work after this.
Thank you for any help.

P.S.: Beside of this transcode works (in a reduced resolution e.g. 384x288)
