1) Have you got "bttv" related modules installed (by "modprobe bttv")? You
can use "lsmod" to check out.

2) Why don't you use "xawtv" for a test first? It's so easy and convenient.

Subject: V4l issues?

Hello!

I'm using a Logitech Quickcam Zoom, kernel 2.4.20, PWC v 8.10.

A) I can cat /dev/video0 no problem, and pipe output to a file, what
format is the data in and could it be useful in any way?

B) videodog: ioctl VIDIOCMCAPTURE: Invalid argument

C) vgrabbber: unable to find a supported capture format

D) streamer -o hi.ppm: no grabber device available

As you can see, I'm trying many command line applications to test video
grabbing (No, don't have X and don't want it) however nothing seems to
work except cat /dev/video0 > file

I can see that the ascii spat at TTY during cat /dev/video0 changes as I
move the camera around, it seems to be working at least in that mode..

Anyone have any hints? I haven't had a single third party app grab
anything as of yet.

Thank you
