Hello there! Project Webcam failed due to unknown reasons. I want to capture pictures by my USB-LegoCam and I am not sure where to search for errors. Maybe anyone see a big mistake and can give me some advice? I think that /etc/video which points to /dev/video0 uses the module 'videodev 8288 1 [mod_quickcam]' to get contact to the cam?? Sorry For the long listening but I tried to give all required information. Thanks a lot!! First I did as described at http://qce-ga.sourceforge.net/ for the QuickcamExplree qce-ga driver. Then I made a symlink ad described at http://www.linux-usb.org/USB-guide/x370.html mknod /dev/video0 c 81 0 ln -s /dev/video0 /dev/video which makes : lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 11 Mar 4 19:46 video -> /dev/video0 crw-r--r-- 1 root root 81, 0 Mar 4 19:47 video0 -rw------- 1 root root 5249638400 Mar 4 13:41 video0.orig crw------- 1 flosch root 81, 1 Aug 31 2002 video1 crw------- 1 flosch root 172, 0 Aug 31 2002 video1394 crw------- 1 flosch root 81, 2 Aug 31 2002 video2 crw------- 1 flosch root 81, 3 Aug 31 2002 video3 video.orig: total 0 crw------- 1 flosch root 10, 204 Aug 31 2002 em8300 crw------- 1 flosch root 10, 206 Aug 31 2002 em8300_ma crw------- 1 flosch root 10, 205 Aug 31 2002 em8300_mv crw------- 1 flosch root 10, 207 Aug 31 2002 em8300_sp [root@tigger dev]# I tried it out with linux-video-studio 0.1.7 which hat a def. path to /dev/video but cannot read from device, not even the light flashes. At the end of this doc.
