tv card newbie prob revisited

Hi everyone.

Last week i succeeded watching tv with xawtv, thanks to Jörg.. But it's still not good enough. I'll summarize in steps, what the problem is :

1. When i started xawtv, it gave me the following errors :

This is xawtv-3.76, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.19-4GB)
WARNING: Your X-Server has no DGA support.
WARNING: couldn't find framebuffer base address, try manual
        configuration ("v4l-conf -a <addr>")
/root/.xawtv:15: syntax error
config: invalid value for input: (null)
valid choices for "input": "Television", "Composite1", "S-Video"
ioctl: VIDIOCCAPTURE(on): Invalid argument
ioctl: VIDIOCCAPTURE(off): Invalid argument

2. Then i ran v4l-conf & got these :

v4l-conf: using X11 display :0.0
WARNING: Your X-Server has no DGA support.
mode: 1024x768, depth=24, bpp=32, bpl=4096, base=unknown
/dev/video0 [v4l2]: ioctl VIDIOC_QUERYCAP: Invalid argument
WARNING: couldn't find framebuffer base address, try manual
configuration ("v4l-conf -a <addr>")
/dev/video0 [v4l]: configuration done

3. Then i enabled DGA support. Now i can open xawtv & watch the channels. But with only capture=grabdisplay option set. If capture is overlay, i can only see horizontal colorful lines on the whole screen, and sth like tiled tv frames. I have to change the capture to grabdisplay everytime i zap another channel. And xawtv crashes when i make it fullscreen.

I'm a newbie. I don't know exactly where the problem is. I tried finding documentation, & found some, but none of them seems to fit exactly. So any help of yours is appreciated.

TIA,
