One 611 (same as 311) user, Peter, found the error in the bttv driver -- the PLL could not be set up properly for full color PAL. There is a strange mixture of PAL/NTSC timing in for bt878. PAL_NC works Ok. This could be why you made full color PAL working by recompiling and rerunning vc[chan].norm = 4,5,6,0 to recover from missetting. It would be a generic bttv driver issue for color PAL and for all the grabbing board based on bt848/878 chipset. Can bttv driver expert(s) make some comments, suggestions, or solutions for this? PAL works fine except for the first 2 images when the following steps are carried out..... 1. First set vc[chan].norm = 4; /* 0:PAL 1:NTSC 2:SECAM */—recompile then… 2. Then set vc[chan].norm = 5–recompile..then… 3. Set vc[chan].norm = 6—recompile…..then… 4. Set vc[chan].norm = 0 –recompile. Works OK Grabs full colour PAL. Then when I reboot the first 2 images I take are rubbish but all subsequent images are OK. It’s working fine except for the first 2 images. Also the jumper settings must be correct as follows....supplied by Charlie... option 1: J3: | | , with J8 closed ( | ) -- slot 0, and INT A option 2: J3: | : , with J7 closed ( | ) -- slot 1, and INT B option 3: J3: : | , with J6 closed ( | ) -- slot 2, and INT C option 4: J3: : : , with J5 closed ( | ) -- slot 3, and INT D I don't understand why I have to carry out steps 1 to 4 above?? Driver bug?? Any ideas? Regards, R.C. --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free. Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
