Yep, RedHat 7.3.

I had a feeling it had to be a secrity feature or somthing. thanks

"man 5 console.perms" should explain what is happening:

--------------------------------------------------------------

So go ahead and edit /etc/security/console.perms. It's not a bug, it's a (security) feature. 8-)
