Re: Problems to configure Video4Linux as a kernel module ...

Hi Jack,

First, thanks for your support, I'm now able to load the 'videodevX' driver,
but now I've got a problem to compile the 'matroxXXXXXX' specific driver,
because running the included Makefile leads to an error:

via.c:3659: warning: assignment makes pointer from integer without a
cast
    make[2]: *** [via.o] Error 1
    make[2]: Leaving directory `/root/meteor2'
    make[1]: *** [_mod_/root/meteor2] Error 2
    make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux-2.4.2'
    make: *** [this_module] Error 2

I don't know, whether the occurring error has something to do with the last
warning or not. But I'm wondering why this error occurs at all! Perhaps you
have an idea?

To your question concerning good framegrabber cards: We paid for our matrox
meteor 2 multichannel card about 1000€ in december 2001. It is one of the
best cards we are using and testing at the institute (and we are testing
more than just one :-) ! ).

Thanks to you once again, ewald.
