Some time ago, someone asked me to write a raw-yuv422-to-yuv4mpeg2 convertor (mjpegtools uses yuv4mpeg2), downloadable at http://ronald.bitfreak.net/download/yuv422toy4m2.c if you're interested. It doesn't do 100% correct yuv conversion (not gonna go into the cruel details here ;-) ), but it works.
