Tevion MD9717 / SAA7134 stereo issue

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hi!

A lot of folks complained about high pitched tones when setting amux to TV
and mono sound, when changing it to Line2.

Concerning the first issue, I don't have -any- sound with amux=TV, so I
can't help here - but when cross-checking the card with windows I came about an
odd result:
I hooked a (stereo) radio via chinch->scart to my (stereo) vcr, which was
connected to the TV in of my card.
Grabbing the sound at the "sound out" from the vcr showed true stereo but
checking the sound on my computer, the "true" stereo was lost. The signal
wasn't really mono either, but the 2 channels seemed mixed (eliminating 1 channel
just decreased the volume, but didn't mute any speaker). Same thing under
Linux.

I thought, maybe you'd like to check this as well und possibly post the
results, so I know, whether it's a problem with my card or a general
"fault/feature"

Bye,
             Gregor.

P.S.: I have to admit that my vcr could possibly be doing this, since I have
no stereo TV to cross-check it but I think that would be very odd, wouldn't
it?
