Getting sound to work: LG, bttv...

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Hello,

A friend is continually bugging me to get his sound working as well
(I've got his video working a while back). Thing is, as it is not my
own and I'm quite busy, I am not prepared to spend much more time
learning about all the workings of the V4L modules, etc.

I am hoping someone on this list can quickly point me in the right
direction.

Here is what I believe to be relevant output of lspci:

00:03.0 Multimedia video controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 (rev 11)
00:03.1 Multimedia controller: Brooktree Corporation Bt878 (rev 11)

00:03.0 Class 0400: 109e:036e (rev 11)
00:03.1 Class 0480: 109e:0878 (rev 11)

On the card itself, I was able to read the following, of chipsets etc.
(OK, here I'm going completely over the top, don't know what's really
relevant):

LG
TAPC-I001P

Conexant
Fusion 878A
25878-13
E88433.1
0042 Korea <g>

HEF4052BT
D2082pl
Hnn0018 6

LVA001
0028GD1

LR50 REV:W

Can't even remember exactly where on the card I read what.

My current settings are:

options bttv card=39
options tuner type=37

Got these with a little trial and error. I tried loading msp3400 before
loading anything else, and I also loaded tvmixer - what should this do?
I hoped to see another mixer device appear in /dev (devfs...)

Relevant dmesg output for how it is currently set up... might that irq
sharing be a problem? 00:03.* I have shown above. 01:00.0 is:

01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation Vanta [NV6] (rev 15)
