That did not help. Only xawtv -remote and fbtv work.

It works reproducable with Kernel 2.2.19. I also tried to build a kernel
without special Ati Rage Support and with a normal vesa driver in
my XFree Config (I am using Xfree 4.1). That did not help, too.

No, that did not help.

Is there a possibility to make a trace of the behaviour of xawtv and
the bttv module to see where it hangs? What else could help?
