Nop, no effect..

 xawtv --help
This is xawtv-3.54, running on Linux/i686 (2.4.9-31)

My parameters works great on 2.4.9-31 and with previous kernel versions 
(2.4.18 for example):

alias char-major-81 videodev
alias char-major-81-0   bttv
options bttv card=65 radio=0 tuner=5 pll=1
options tuner debug=0
