RedHat 7.1 (forgive me Alan) was broken in some regards... gcc, and several others. 7.2 is considerably better. Now that you've installed 7.1, have you gone to the updates site and updated all the security fixes and errata? If you've done that, then you should have relatively few problems. gerry -- rbottoms wrote: > > Here the current progress: > > # Hareware > - i586 > - 380 MB RAM > - DC10 capture card > > # Re-installed RedHat 7.1 > - Select Indiviual Packages Option > - Installed V4L Support > - Installed SDL Libraries > > # Edited /etc/X11/XF86Config > > Section "Module" > Load "dbe" > Load "GLCore" > Load "dri" > Load "glx" > Load "extmod" > Load "v4l" > EndSection > > # Compiled xawtv-3.72 > -./configure <no options> > - make & make install > > # startx using KDE > - <cmd> xawtv > - result: window opens > - console errors: > > XVideo missing on display ":0.0" > ioctl: VIDIOSCHAN(0,Composite,flags=0x0,type=2,norm=2): > invalid argument > > # scratch head... > > r.b. > > _______________________________________________ > Video4linux-list mailing list > Video4linux-list@xxxxxxxxxx > https://listman.redhat.com/mailman/listinfo/video4linux-list -- Gerry Creager AATLT/Network Engineering Texas A&M University 979.458.4020 (Phone) 979.847.8578 (FAX)
