How to update BTTV driver?

Hello,

I want to use my Redhat 6.2 system as a webcam server. How do I update my bttv driver? Because v4l is warning me for a old version ( 0.5.35 ), at the BTTV site I don't get any further with how to update my RedHat system but I found that I needed to update my kernel. I don't have any experience updating my kernel. Can someone give my a simple HOWTO ?
