Tuner type can be determined by reading the model printed on the sticker.

Note: Often the tuner manufacturer sticker is hidden by the card vendor sticker.
You must remove the latter to find the tuner model !

No. It just echoes your selection.

Quality card vendors encode the tuner type to eeprom or GPIO (or PCI subsystem ID).
