Well, ain't that a coincidence, I did the same this evening.  I wanted
to time shift, which of course you can do with MPEG and no can do with
DivX.

I was using 1800 which I found quite acceptable.  Well all except the
"interference" I have on channel 3 here.  FFMPEGrec dutifully encoded
it though.  :-)

On analog cable here, I don't find much difference between 1800 and
mid 2000's.

Wow.  I never saw any of that.  What I did see however was A/V drift,
which is quite surprising for NVrec tools.  It seemed to drift more
(as in amount of drift per minute of recording) as the recording went
on.  By the end of the hour I was hitting minus (-) on Mplayer once
every 5-10 seconds -- gotta love the knobs in Mplayer.  :-)

Nope.  I am going to have to go back to DIVX4rec until this is fixed.
I can cope with having to A/V adjust here, but the A/V out of sync
drives my girlfriend nuts.  :-)
