FFMPEGrec bug with longer recordings

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

HI,

I put FFMPEGrec into "production" on my PVR - that is FFMPEGrec with my
ffmpeg patch to fix AV sync.

I've noticed an odd effect - I use a rate of 2500 for video, which gives a
fairly good video quality. But I'm finding that suddenly FFMPEGrec will
turn down the bit rate dramatically - I'd guess from 2500 down to 400 or
less. As you might expect, that gives a very poor picture.

On one file this happened after 43m40s or so - suspiciously close to 65536
frames. But another file it was sooner. Also - the rate comes right
again later - around 60m into that file.

Before I look into it - has anyone else noticed this problem? Even better
- does anyone have a pointer to a fix?

Thanks,
Steve
