Accessing digital audio? [btaudio, et al.]

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]

Going through the driver information,
I see that btaudio allows either digital
or analog access to the audio. When
I install the module with the analog=1
option, I get a mixer that finds 3 lines
on my Hauppauge BT878, as mentioned in the
documentation, and everything appears
as /dev/dsp1 & /dev/mixer1, etc. (Unfortunately,
the docs also mention that line #2 might be
very noisy, which is also true, and I end up
having to feed it out to an additional soundcard).

My big question is if I run btaudio as
digital, what device(s) can I access to
get a mixer or sound in recording. (I'd
like to just have the TV card in my machine
without additional sound card). Or is there
another way to access the audio portion of
the incoming TV signal (analog or digital).

Thanks,
Bill
