Not sure if this is really ontopic here, but I don't know what would be
a better place to post this.

I'm having trouble getting NVrec to work.
It just doesn't work at all, not capturing a single frame and requiring
a kill -9 to end it (The example below uses DIVX4rec, but I have tried
all other NVrec programs too, they show exactly the same behaviour
except DIVXrec (this one just crashes, but I have the 0.6 version of
avifile installed, so not really surprising)).

  DIVX4rec -o test.avi
Starting NVrec.c, version 20011205 (NVrec-20011205).

There is no cpu load at all while those errors appear.
This is on a a7v133 with an athlon xp, using kernel 2.4.16 (have tried
it with 2.4.14 too).
I've tried the kernel version of bttv (0.7.83) and 0.7.85 and I even
patched the kernel and tried the new version 0.8.31 - didn't change
anything. Watching tv (overlay and grabdisplay mode) with xawtv works
fine, even recording using xawtv works fine.
I got it to work however on another board (bx chipset, celeron566@850)
using a very similar software configuration (same kernel, same bttv
versions) so I really don't know what's going wrong.

Thanks for your help

Roland

Could you please send me a pre-compiled binary (to me personally, not the list!) - I think it may be a compiler issue, miscompiling the various volatile structure manipulations...
