Most things are pretty optimal already - you may need to play with the
DivX quality (-dq switch) to get the best possible quality for your CPU
power.

Pretty much. Although I have never seen that happen, except on _very_
large pictures (> 640x480)... The only other option is to use QTrec to
record with a faster codec, and recompress off-line...
Are you sure you are dropping frames though - does the frame-drop
counter increase, or is it just an occasional out of sequence frame?
