Hi Eugene, That's odd about RealServer - just a few months ago I downloaded a 'free 5 stream' version for Linux.... No matter - ffmpeg will serve-up Real content. The 'Real' link is still valid for downloading the player.. ffmpeg has been tremendously stable for me. I've stress-tested it on the network here with 2000 simultaneous connections. Set-up a small partition for The Playa and it will happily play-while-downloading right off the end of it... It's not very smart that way - a good thing in this instance. Set up a small file for ffmpeg and it will encode the divx into it as if it were a circular buffer. Seems that ffmpeg is still the best option. I'd go with windows media player or real player, I think. Or just a netscape web browser and push shockwave down to it with ffmpeg... Prehaps one of the Mpeg players would be an option too? Some of them have windows ports. Thanks for letting me (us) know about real!
