Not i2o, but i2c.
you must compile kernel including bttv and i2c ( into kernel or as kernel module ).
I recommend 'module method'.
 
Once compiled so, reboot using compiled kernel.
After login, 'modprobe bttv'.
You can see detail log in /var/log/messages file. 'tail /var/log/messages'.
Successfully loaded, run any video for linux application.
just it.

I'm very new to this list and to linux. I ask you to help me. I've a Bt878 (Hauppauge new) chip based TV-Tuner card and Corel linux 1.2. How can I use it? The v4l modules are now compiled as module (and of course the i2o too)  Please help me!  I want change my win98 to Linux completely...
