I have a Panasonic VCR with the Jerry Igguiden patented commercial cutting features. (US Patents 5,333,091, 5,692,093, and 5,696,866) It does quite a good job of cutting commercials during playback. The VCR records everything and then after a recording is complete it goes back and marks the commercials. During playback they are fast forwarded through automatically. It seems to me that us digital video types might benefit from this feature. Is there anyone familiar with this technology, or any projects related to this already on going?
