Just tried it here with the vic app on a 2.2.18 kernel swapping between
the bttv-0.7.57 inards and 0.6.4h. We were unable to see it _fix_ the
grainy scan lines. The description does seem very similar here with the
effect of motion on the lines.

Xawtv does not show any problems like this with either driver series.

We believe we have the color problem we had figured out. A slight
shadowing on anything was being picked up by the camera, and vic was
processing that change and sending it through. So even though there was no
movement in the camera field, the slight shadow changes from curtains
moving or people off camera were giving this effect.

The graininess remains :(. From what I can get from the vic code, it looks
very similar to other code being sampled on this listserv. I am changing a
few things that people are suggesting here, but I have not seen any
positive result. It does seem like the application (vic) is not grabbing
the image very fast/often, so maybe more horsepower will help :)?
