Hi Jakob. I share the same opinion about it than Peter.
There are some papers on modules, if you need some help to find, drop me
a line and I send my bookmarks to you, v4l still being used for many
apps ( including comercial ones ), altough we all know that v4l2 is
better than it.
Try to get Rubini's book ( Linux Device Drivers) and drivers ( he did a
driver to PXC200 before v4l and the source code is very clear. I think
you can get in in metalab.unc.edu) as example in module and driver
coding.
