WebTV for Win98 is supported by the vendors (MS, Brooktree/RSS/Conexant, Hauppauge, etc.), while bttv is community grown. WebTV for Win98 is relatively closed, although there is some driver source available and it can be programmed via DirectShow. That is, you don't need to use the WebTV application. bttv is completely open. Comparable quality can be achieved with each. -- Peter
