Re: V4L without X11 - tuning

The problem I had with doing this is that I seem to need to run xawtv to set up the tuner for the appropriate channel. Is there a
way to do this without using X11?

And for those of us who don't agree that computers are useless without
output, apps can access v4l, grab the data, shove it off to a hard drive
without ever displaying it for later consumption. I was just setting up
something to grab frames from a quickcam and store them on the web server.
While it uses v4l, nothing ever comes up on the screen.
